This verse has been rendered as follows:


. . . the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is man; and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 11:3

With the idea read in this rendering that there is a general headship of a man over a woman this passage is significant in the issue of women in leadership or indeed all interactions between men and women.

This chapter takes the reader step by step through the translation of the Greek to demonstrate this is an inaccurate rendering. Examples of other passages in the New Testament help the reader see for themselves this is so. This then leaves the reader to naturally see the rendering is accurate as follows:
